c) We use “Newsletter” to analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an email sent via “Newsletter,” a file contained in the email (known as a web beacon) connects to the “Newsletter” servers. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and, if so, which links were clicked. In addition, technical information is collected (e.g., time of access, IP address, browser type, and operating system). This information cannot be linked to the specific newsletter recipient. It is used exclusively for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better tailor future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.

c) You also have the right to object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes. As a result, your data will no longer be processed for direct marketing purposes.
Current Notice
In its July 16, 2020, ruling, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) found that the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Agreement is invalid because the European standard of data protection cannot be guaranteed for data processing operations carried out in the United States. In particular, providers such as Google process personal data in the United States as well. In the view of the ECJ, the United States is a so-called “unsafe third country.” This means, in particular, that U.S. authorities, for example, can access user data held by the service, and there are no legal remedies available against this, as provided for by the GDPR. The consents you have provided as part of the cookie consent therefore expressly extend to the processing of the relevant personal data in the United States as well.
